Violent Acts Against the Burmese, Are Just You going to Let it Happen?

Aung San Suu Kyi
Nobel prize winner, Aung San Suu Kyi, has spent 13 years detained by the Burmese military junta. She has devoted her whole life in fighting for democracy in Burma. Together, with thousands monks and fellow students they have rallied and fought for democracy. Most of them are oppressed by the junta and detained as political prisoners.

The world condemns Burma for its inhumane acts. The Burmese becomes forced labour to the junta and the womens are used as sex slaves to the junta. The junta controls almost every aspect of the countries. The Burmese are not allowed to talk to tourists or they will be detained by the junta. Cyclone Nargis caused the worst natural disaster ever in Burma. Despites heavy efforts and pressure by the world, the junta did not approve the aids given by the world. The junta approve the aids weeks after the cyclone. The delayed response by the junta has caused atleast 146,000 deaths.

Massive rallies were held worldwide and the growing international pressure is working. In December, 112 former Presidents and Prime Ministers from more than 50 countries
sent a letter to the UN - Secretary-General Ba Ki-moon urging him to press for the release of all political prisoners in Burma, and 20 prisoners were released after a UN envoy visited the country.

Sources now says that the junta is fearful of this unified and massive call to the UN. The Burmese organisers have set a goal of 888,888 signatures to for the petition that will be delivered to Un Secretary General Ba Ki-moon.

As of today (2 days after the petition started), more than 135,000 people have signed this online petition. It is our call to help in ending this violet repression. Let us sign this online petition! Together we can do this!

Click the link above to sign the petition. Tell your friends and family about this! Urge them to end these violent acts.
